very true but there was also the matter that those phones were “kids toys” made by tomoyo’s family company. thats certainly a fancy toy^^ granted i know kindergardeners with $400 dollar phones here. *shakes head*

Yeah, the first thing that came to my mind too were the cellphones. But then we’re talking about an anime here and you know how technology is all so advanced there in Japan.

well i say that because look at the designs of the cell phones, there fairly modern for the early 90′s and tomoyo’s camaras are a ggod indication of the passage of times. it might only vary by a few years but it seems to me to be set in about 1999 or 2001 (somewhere in there) by the start of the show.

I never thought of that. I mean CCS’s story taking place in the future. But yeah, thinking about it now, I don’t think a non-fan would ever get the impression that CCS is an old 90′s anime. It was indeed an anime ahead of its time.

he actually has several different ages… by my math he was born in the years:
1986,1987,1988, or possibly 1990,1991, or 1992

that makes him something between 24 and 18 i know theres a big gap in those dates but its because ccs seems to take place in the future if you look at the tech available considering the time of publication

Wow! I’m actually turning 23 this December. It’s cool to know we might have the same age.

Thanks for that info. I knew they were 10 years old in the story but I didn’t know what year to start counting. I only remember the anime aired in 1998 but forgot about the manga.

the manga was released on 1996, when sakura and syaoran were ten so syaoran based on the manga must be… 22 more or less!!! happy birthday syaoran!
