Pendragon, The Little Prince and Google Reader

I never start writing a blog post without having at least an idea what I’m gonna write about. But this one is different so I’ll just start typing whatever comes to mind.

It’s been a few weeks since my last post and I know I shouldn’t be leaving my blog like this. Otherwise, weeks will turn into months, months into years… Until one day I’ll delete the blog again to start anew. So, from now on I will really try to post at least once a week. I figured a weekly post shouldn’t be that difficult or demanding to me.

Anyhow, here’s another review of the latest happenings in my exciting life! :P

Pendragon and The Little PrinceI finished reading the first book of Pendragon and I’m happy to say it was more fun than I expected. I can only imagine it getting better in the next books. This series might just turn out as awesome as Bartimaeus. The 10th and last Pendragon book will be released this May. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do.

I tried to look for a really cheap copy of the second book but I couldn’t find one so I ended up buying The Little Prince. Here’s the book review I posted on Facebook:

"This book is really strange. It starts off like a typical children’s book but then winds up having very meaningful stories showcasing lessons in life. Well at least that’s how I interpreted it. That’s because I think this book will have different meanings to each reader. As the little prince had said, "One cannot see well except with the heart. The essential is invisible to the eyes." I’m rating it 4/5 stars for now since I really didn’t read it on one sitting so I found myself always going back a few pages just to check the last thing that happened. And I’ve been really analyzing the stories and not reading it too literally so that was a real challenge. I think this book must be read in just one sitting to get the full effect of it. And it shouldn’t be that difficult since it’s a really short book."

Some book, huh? xD

Yahoo! Pipes and Google ReaderLastly, I unsubscribed to a lot of feeds in my Google Reader. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that it had become the main source of distraction in my life lately. I optimized some of the feeds using Yahoo! Pipes to only include the articles that matter to me. While for the rest, I had completely unsubscribed. And surprisingly, I really don’t feel like I’m missing a lot after I did this. :D

Now with more free time (at home), I expect to open my second blog next week. It will be a science and tech-oriented blog. This new blog will be more professional while Syaoran’s Journal will remain a place for all my personal stuff including topics of interest in music, movies and TV.

I’m preparing myself again before I make another important decision in my life. I hope everything turns out alright when I do make it. Anyway, why do I need to worry if I know that Bro is always with me? :)

(Wow! I never thought blogging spontaneously could be this fun. I would never have thought I’d end up writing about the books and Google Reader. Lesson: Not all things have to be planned after all.)
