First of all, I would like to apologize to those who have been frequently checking out this blog patiently waiting for updates. I said in my last post that I would be posting some reviews soon but that didn’t happen because I had a slight change of plans in my blogging routine. For those who are not aware, I also maintain a personal blog for non-bookish topics. I was planning to merge the two blogs into one portal site. They both use WordPress but updating them separately was becoming a chore and it has gotten in the way of my writing. The merging was supposed to be done in just a week but certain conditions (not just the typhoon) delayed my plans.
Regarding Ondoy, thankfully we weren’t affected much by it. We only lost power for a few hours but that’s it. I spent most of the day tweeting, plurking and facebooking news about the storm. Hearing about people who got stuck in their houses because of the rising flood was one of the most harrowing experiences I’ve ever had this year. I didn’t feel like writing much again after that so I decided to go on a blogging hiatus for a while and just take my time with my new blog’s design. Also, I felt I wouldn’t be able to concentrate on personal matters if I still visit everyday the 20 or so blogs I frequent. I figured it wouldn’t be fair if I commented only on a handful of blogs while ignoring the rest so I decided to abandon blog reading for a while. I reckon I have a lot of catching up to do once I do return for good but honestly, I’m really looking forward to reading blogs again. I do have a nasty habit of starting something and not finishing it and I want to change that attitude so I really have to finish the new blog. I’m almost done with it and I should have everything back up on a new website address before the end of the week. The Bookish Pinoy will still be there so it’s still this same content with the same name but with a new look. You’ll see the reviews I was promising to publish here once the new blog is up.
Well, that’s it for now. Thanks for reading and (hopefully) for understanding. Need to get back to working on a**l***s (the new blog’s name). ^_^

Glad you’re back online Patrick. Do let me know when you’ve moved
a merge? that sounds nice but I prefer you keep them separated. Much more cooler hehehe XD
good thing you weren’t affected by the storm.
a new blog? weee hmmmm let me guess..
a**l***s
anologus? hahaha just a guess XD
Nah. Just one blog now. I thought I could manage them separate but it was too much work.
anologus? That’s not even a word. Hehe.
yes you can manage it and you’re doing fine.
Hey, thanks for the reply. Instead of just a reply, you put up a post. Cool!
I’ll be waiting in deep anticipation for the wordpress site. There are no bookworms on this site of the world for me.
By the way, you still haven’t answered my question. What book haunts do you frequent? Do you know Bookay Ukay in Maginhawa, UP Village, or do you go to Quiapo for rare books? Do you do personal tours for book n00bs (me) in these places? Haha, just asking.
@Mark: What do you mean by “book haunts?” *clueless* I’ve never heard of Bookay Ukay. I just go to the regular mall bookstores. Hehe.
Personal tours? I guess it should have been clear in my Manila book fair post that I’m also new to the social bookworms scene. I’ve been a closet bookworm for a long time. Haha!
Hi, Patrick! Glad to know you’re still active with this blog. I’ve been one of those returnees, quietly wondering what happened to you. I chalked it up to lagging interest which happens to me a lot of times. So, I’m glad you’re back, promising a new look. Looking forward to that…:)
@Johanna: Lagging interest… Had one of those moments too. Hehe!
